San Juan Bioenergy: Food, BioFuels, and Renewable Power - Win win win for the Economy, The Environment and National Security

PRODUCTS

San Juan Bioenergy produces BTUs from multiple sources for multiple markets at its integrated bioenergy production facility in Dove Creek, Colorado. This not only improves our bottom line, but reduces our waste and ensures that we remain viable when markets shift. SJB offers the following products:

Sunflower and Safflower Oils

SJB offers filtered, unrefined organic and conventional sunflower and safflower oils produced through a mechanical (i.e. "expeller pressed") extrusion process. Our crude, mid-oleic sunflower oils meet the National Sunflower Association’s crude sunflower oil specifications (click here), while our high-oleic oils generally exceed an 80% oleic content. Safflower specifications will be available by mid 2009. Product is available in bulk (tanker truck), totes (300 gallon), and 55 gallon drums. Contact us for availability and pricing.
Please note that our premium, food grade sunflower and safflower oils are not generally cost effective for biodiesel production, thus we discourage inquiries for this purpose.

Sunflower, Safflower and Canola Meals

San Juan Bioenergy offers high quality, high protein oil seed meals providing excellent nutritional value for a variety of livestock. Our sunflower seed meals, incorporating a dehulling process removing 50% of the hulls, yields upwards of 46% crude protein on a dry matter basis, or translated to 10% moisture, approximately 40% crude protein. As our process entails a mechanical, and not solvent extraction, process, our meals will also have approximately 7% residual fat (energy). San Juan Bioenergy meals are offered in a pelletized form. Meal may be available in granular form for an additional fee. Safflower and canola seed meal specifications will be available in mid 2009. Product is available in bulk (25 ton semi-hopper bottom), or totes/ag bags (app. 1 ton), FOB Dove Creek or your facility. Contact us for availability and pricing.

Biodiesel

SJB plans to initiate biodiesel production in early 2009 in a small scale, pilot facility, producing approximately 15,000 gallons per year using canola and used fryer oil feedstocks. Our renewable, climate friendly fuel may be made available to qualified buyers in the Four Corners region. Contact us to discuss buyer qualification procedure, availability, and pricing.

Integrated Bioenergy Production

Through state-of-the-art biomass collection and gasification processes, SJB utilizes sunflower hulls, dockage (stems, leaves, and other foreign material delivered in with oil seed), wood waste, and potentially switchgrass and other dedicated biomass crops, to produce process heat and power needed in our manufacturing process. Contact us today if your food or biomass based processing facility could benefit through value-added utilization of biomass byproducts by reducing heating and power bills, improving your bottom line, becoming more competitive, and reducing your carbon footprint (with potential for future carbon credit benefits as well). Or if you represent an agricultural cooperative or growing region, SJB can partner with you to help identify bioenergy crop production and processing opportunities. SJB will consider direct consulting services, joint venture, O&M, and other partnership options.
